A few weeks ago, an event called Write the River took place along the Niobrara River! Write the River is an event created by the Nebraska Writing Project, The Niobrara National Scenic River and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to provide an educational writing experience for high school students
At this event students got the chance to canoe the river, stopping for presentations about the river area from NPS Rangers from the Niobrara Scenic River on four different resources and writing prompts/styles from teachers/consultants from the Nebraska Writing Project.
This year’s Write the River took place on September 23, 2024.
